Falling into winter
All seasons move quickly in western New York it seems, except for winter. Spring had to fight it’s way in this year with cold snaps right up until June that shortened the growing season dramatically. Summer was a fitful creature with all too often rains. Fall, it seems was barely there at all. As the local weather report called for the best seasonal color, the rains struck again for days on end, washing the changing leaves from the trees in less than a week’s time. So much for my last taste of outside pleasures for the next 6 months or so! Mud, havoc and frost surrounds me here and creates the stage for my chaotic harvest.
